Asbestos is a material which is known for its resistance to heat, electricity and corrosion. It was widely used in construction and many other industries until the late 1990’s; it was only then that the dangers associated with the material were realised and that it posed a serious health risk to anyone unfortunate enough to inhale it. The use of Asbestos is now banned in the UK.
Breathing in Asbestos fibres can damage the lungs and the lining; unfortunately symptoms can take years to present themselves, therefore having awareness and what to do in your workplace if you find any is vital. This course will teach you how to become aware of signs of asbestos and what the best next steps are.
Training can either take place on site at a customer’s premises or in one of our accredited training centres.
