Hook Lift Truck

Hook Lift Truck

Lets start with an

Introduction

A Hook Lift, otherwise referred to as a demountable container unit is a system built onto a road vehicle and its design enables it to pick up a container from the rear of the vehicle at ground level. It then places the container on the vehicles carrying chassis and moves it from point A to point B. It can also tip the container thereby emptying the container of the materials it may have been carrying.

The container is lifted by a hook on the rear of the vehicle, hence the name “Hook Lift Truck”. It can be operated either from outside the vehicle but mostly it’s controlled from inside the cab. These types of trucks are more commonly used for builders waste materials, bulk logistical supplies, bulk refuse and even fire and rescue services and military logistics.

This course is designed to train the operator in the use of the equipment only, it does not cover the driving of the vehicle.

Training will take place on site at the customers premises.
