Introduction

A Skid Steer is a piece of construction equipment, its main purpose is for digging and hauling materials. They tend to be used on building sites, farms and quarry’s. They can either be fitted with wheels or tracks. Although they can carry a weight of over 2 tonnes the Skid Steer is light and can move around easily on rough ground. More often fitted with a bucket attachment, the Skid Steer is versatile in that it can have various attachments fitted.

Complete Safety Training offers courses for all types of Skid Steers and we cater for trainees of all experience levels, from complete novices to refreshers. All of these trucks require a high skill level in order to operate safely. Our instructors will ensure that by the end of the course all trainees will understand their legal obligations regarding checking the truck is safe to use and will be able to operate the truck in a safe and efficient manner.

Durations will be tailored for each course, taking into consideration number of trainees and level of experience. Our team will work with you to help determine which course is the most suitable.

All trainees will be provided with an accredited or in-house certificate following successful completion of the course which is valid for 3 years; 3 yearly refresher training is recommended.

Lift Truck stability – engineering principles and weight assessment

Driving within simulated working conditions

Manoeuvring skills

Rated capacity/load centre

Hydraulic system and use of the hydraulic controls
